Ardour: Dancing In The Red Room

Ardour:
Earlier this year, Ardour’s debut performance saw punters overflowing from the sold out venue and onto the footpath of Fitzroy’s Sydney Road. The heady fusion of alternative indie and experimental hip-hop bursting from the bandroom told a story to those both indoors and out; one of warm, passionate love and enthusiasm, at times destructive in its burning intensity. It’s from this very feeling that Ardour derives their name, and their music has proven to be an authentic expression of the deep passion that they house.
Taking influence from the likes of international stars Injury Reserve, James Blake, Sampha, and Dev Lemons, as well as Australian visionaries Mali Jo$e, SUPEREGO, and Sycco, Ardour’s musical vision is eclectic and exciting. Willing to eschew genre boundaries in the pursuit of a sound that’s truly theirs, they’re equally at home in more laid-back indie spaces as they are blasting eardrums in rock/rap spaces.
Backed by The Avian Haven, Ardour is bringing their emotionally charged lyricism and cathartically expressive sound to be drenched in the stark red of The Fitzroy Pinnacle’s stage. Featuring support sets from poppy indie-rocker Emma Yue and alternative soul dreamers Public Leisure, the 5th of December will see Ardour dancing in the red room to deep basslines, crunching guitars and smashing drum grooves. At this stage, the only way to experience Ardour’s repertoire is live in person — be sure to grab a ticket so you don’t miss out.

Emma Yue:
Emma Yue's music is for catharsis. Writing for those contemplative moments in the shower when tell yourself ‘just another minute', she brings unnerving confessional honesty and mid-20s-chaos together in folk-pop laced with indie-rock. "Songwriting is my coping mechanism. I write without thinking about other ears hearing it and hope I can bear the vulnerability of sharing them later". As a semi-finalist in Listen Up Music’s annual Songwriting Competition from a pool of over 300 applicants, a two-time semi-finalist in The Bergy's 2024 and 2025 Battle of the Bands, and a participant in JOY FM’s Live Lounge, Emma is only just beginning to show the world the scope of her versatility as an artist.
